MOUSSÉA began with a long-standing fascination with the natural world — the textures of a forest floor, the resilience of plants, and the complex environments in which they grow.

Years spent working closely with botanicals gradually became years of observing, experimenting and understanding them differently. What began with plants and living ecosystems evolved into a deeper exploration of botanical ingredients — how they can be extracted, combined and thoughtfully incorporated into formulations for the skin.

Behind this botanical perspective is a foundation in chemical engineering and years of experience working with formulation, materials and the way ingredients interact. It shaped the way we approach every MOUSSÉA formula: not simply by adding botanical extracts because they sound beautiful, but by considering what each ingredient contributes and how it works alongside the rest of the formula.

There have been countless trials along the way — adjusting textures, testing combinations, revisiting concentrations and starting again when something didn’t feel quite right.
