Mossarium began with a simple fascination with nature.

For years, our work has revolved around plants — creating terrariums, botanical landscapes and green installations that bring a small part of the natural world into everyday spaces.

We spent countless hours working with moss, observing plants, building miniature ecosystems and finding ways to recreate the feeling of being surrounded by nature.

Over time, that relationship with the botanical world began to influence something beyond the spaces we created.

It became the beginning of MOUSSÉA.

A NEW EXPRESSION OF SOMETHING FAMILIAR

MOUSSÉA may look like a very different direction from Mossarium.

One creates botanical environments. The other creates products for the skin.

But to us, the connection has always felt natural.

The same things that inspired Mossarium — forests, plants, textures, scents and the quiet rituals found in nature — became the starting point for thinking about products we use on ourselves every day.

We began asking a different question:

Could we translate our relationship with the botanical world into an everyday skin ritual?

That question eventually became MOUSSÉA.

WHERE NATURE MEETS FORMULATION

Nature is only one part of our story.

Behind MOUSSÉA is also a background in chemical engineering and years of experience working within the formulation industry.

That experience taught us to look beyond an ingredient simply because it sounds botanical or appealing.

A formula needs balance.

It needs to be stable. It needs to feel good on the skin. Ingredients need to have a purpose, and the finished product needs to make sense as a whole.

So while the forest remains our inspiration, formulation guides what comes next.

We combine botanical extracts with considered functional ingredients to create products designed around the way skin actually behaves.

NATURE, STUDIED.

Working with plants for so many years has taught us something important: nature is complex.

A healthy ecosystem isn’t created by one plant or one element. It exists through relationships — between moisture, light, environment and countless smaller factors working together.

We approach skincare with a similar respect for balance.

Not by assuming that everything natural is automatically better, and not by filling a formula with botanical ingredients simply for the sake of a label.

Instead, we study what each ingredient contributes and how it works as part of the complete formulation.

Nature provides the inspiration. Science helps us understand what to do with it.

FROM BOTANICAL SPACES TO BOTANICAL RITUALS

MOUSSÉA began with body care because cleansing is one of the simplest rituals we repeat every day.

We wanted that ordinary moment to feel a little different.

The scent of a forest.
The quietness of tea.
The feeling of water against the skin.

Small sensory experiences that make an everyday routine feel more considered.

From there, our exploration naturally expanded into skincare — products centred around hydration, barrier support and thoughtful formulations designed to work comfortably with the skin.

We don’t believe a routine needs to be complicated to feel meaningful.

Sometimes, it is simply about choosing a few things with intention and returning to them every day.

THE NEXT CHAPTER

MOUSSÉA isn’t a departure from Mossarium.

It is another expression of where we started.

Mossarium allowed us to create little pieces of nature for the spaces around us.

MOUSSÉA brings that same inspiration into the rituals we create for ourselves.

Different forms, but rooted in the same curiosity.
